Moving to Heroku
Due to the many sorrows we’ve collectively had with our current hosting provider hostingrails.com, we’ve decided to finally make the move to our new home: The fantastic guys over at Heroku.
This will hopefully be a very seamless migration, but some things will, for now, cease to be available:
- Mailing in actions isn’t possible on our current heroku setup. (However, if you really need this going forward please let us know by emailing us. Your response decides how fast we approach this issue.)
- Posting tasks via Twitter (to our @43actions account) is also disabled for now.
You should start using the new 43actions right away (the data is moved from the old server as of yesterday, July 6th 2011). Until we move the main 43actions.com URL, you can access the new server through the temporary address fortythree.heroku.com.
Hopefully everything goes well! Let us know if it does, or doesn’t.
Sincerely,
The 43 Actions Team
UPDATE July 17th: Some customers have notified us that their data has been lost in the migration to the new servers. If this happens, please contact our support email. The old server can still be accessed, albeit at the more cryptic URL:
http://148act.zwingli.hostingrails.com/login
The old server should still work for another few months or so, while we move over to the new, more stable system. Please note that the data you add on this server will not be automatically migrated over to the new server.
UPDATE Aug 2nd: We had some issues when viewing Projects, which should now be resolved. Please let us know if you have other problems.
UPDATE Aug 3rd: The newaction emails are now working again on the new servers! OBS: Remember to only send plain text emails. HTML emails will be automatically rejected.
